This romance and mystery visual novel features three love interests, who each have two unique endings, and much of your sleuthing involves chatting with them to gain information about your case. All proceeds for this name-your-price indie game go to Planned Parenthood and a Puerto Rican relief organization.

Flirt while on the job

Fully titled Love on the Peacock Express: A Short Mystery MILF Dating Game, this dating sim offers LGBT romance with three interesting older women. There’s the sharp-looking Cassandra, the elegant Iris, and the suave Vic. You can even unlock a hidden route with the Train Conductor, whom you first practice your observation and deduction skills on. Each of the three main women will give you the chance to solve a problem they have.

Your character is a charming and witty private investigator. Her name is entirely up to you—either enter a full name or just a nickname since she’s taking her vacation on the train ride. The cases you get from the love interests are easy to solve since, unlike most mystery games, you only have to talk to them in order to glean all the clues you need. Plus, you actually can’t get the final answers wrong.

The choices you have to make are just for affection points. You need to be sensitive at times when investigating to unlock the good ending CGs. This means the game is quite short, all in all. Each character and visual art piece has been drawn by a different artist, so the game can look disjointed at times. However, the dialogue writing is quite superb for a short mystery.

Too easy but fun enough

Overall, Love on the Peacock Express is an interesting VN to try out, especially for those looking for LGBT romances. It can be pretty short and not actually much of a challenge for mystery game fans, but the character interaction and writing can be entertaining enough for such a simple dating sim. Additionally, buying the game helps you donate to two charities in one go.
